UTBM at the heart of the Games!

The Paris 2024 Games will definitely mark their era. Did you know that for the past 3 years and for the very first time, an innovation unit - the 'Team INNO' - has been on deck within the organizing committee, supporting more than 40 technological projects to open up the Games even further to the world, for the benefit of athletes and spectators alike?

Congratulations to Xavier Rolland, a UTBM graduate specializing in mechanics and ergonomics, member of a trio like no other, who along with Omar El Zayat and Claire Goyon have identified and led projects that are changing games...and the world, in the image :
- Connected Marathon for All: The biggest connected race of all time, with over 473,000 participants.
- Du Coach Sport: An educational solution that has helped over 240,000 people understand the rules of sports, with a satisfaction rate of over 90%.
- Audiodescription and live commentary service, the largest audio service ever produced for a major event and currently operational for spectators and Paralympic athletes.

Budget-conscious projects with the watchword - and you'll be hearing it more and more in the future - frugal innovation. "My UTBM teachers taught me not only to think about the appropriateness of a project, but also to be able to manage it from A to Z, as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This versatility confirms the relevance of our training to projects that are outside the scope of industry, but which nevertheless require the technical knowledge available to engineers".

Engineer for others, for the sport he's passionate about, Xavier will be escaping from the Olympic Committee headquarters this week to cheer on the athletes. Three years spent for these few days that make the world vibrate...before setting off again for new adventures (dear network, the ball is in your court). Perhaps he'll bump into the famous para-swimming champion Béatrice HESS, legendary flag-bearer for the French team in Atlanta and a UTBM graduate, whom we're also thinking of today and of whom we're proud.

Bravo Xavier! Long live UTBM games and graduates who serve its values!
